Terms of Use of the Service and Precautions

When using the Service, you will need to agree to the following matters:
(1) If you are under 13 years old, you will not be able to use the Service.
(2) If you will be using the Service, you may not engage in any of the prohibited matters set forth in LY Corporation Common Terms of Use, any acts of using the Service for the following purposes, as well as any acts that conflict with the Usage Policies of OPEN AI:
- illegal acts
- use to cause harm to yourself or others
- acts of diverting or distributing output to cause harm to others
- privacy infringement
- acts that are likely to significantly damage the safety, welfare, and rights of others, or encouraging such acts
- acts that cause harm by intentionally deceiving others or causing others to misunderstand
- use for sexual contents that are improper for minors
(3) In addition to the preceding paragraph, the following acts are also prohibited:
- acts of entering your or a third party’s personal information (including, but not limited to names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and social media account information) in the entry spaces in the features
- acts of entering confidential information and information for which a third party is in possession of the copyrights, trademark rights, and other intellectual property rights thereof (including, but not limited to, data, proper names, and phrases) without obtaining a license from such third party
- acts of uploading any images or other data despite not having the legitimate right to use the same
(4) Within the Service, you may use functions designated by LY Corporation (“LYC”) which utilize generative AI. The following functions are included:
(i) suggesting, recommending or assisting communication via Talk, etc.
(ii) analyzing, summarizing or indicating the content you enter into Talk, your usage history or information provided in the Talk Rooms
(iii) generating, processing or editing images and other contents
(iv) any other functions incidental to any of the foregoing or which LYC adds from time to time
(5) LYC does not warrant the accuracy, effectiveness, appropriateness, validity, etc. of output generated by AI within the Service, such as suggestions, recommendations, or analyses, and it also provides no warranty that the Service provides an accurate understanding of important notices, intentions or communications having legal effect, etc.
(6) Output generated by AI within the Service is based on automatic analysis made by generative AI, and it does not verify the actual facts. This output is provided to assist in communication or for your reference and must not be used to replace any medical, psychological, legal, or other professional judgment, nor is it intended for comparison with others or objective evaluation under any circumstances. Please use this output based on your judgment and at your own risk.
(7) If the Service is used more than a certain number of times, the functions may be temporarily restricted. Furthermore, the functions, terms of use, and other related matters of the Service shall be determined and changed at the discretion of LYC.
(8) The use of information in the Service will be as follows:
LYC will collect and use, until your withdrawal from your LINE account, various information related to you in connection with the Service, for the purposes listed below, until such time as the provision of the Service is terminated. Moreover, LYC may share various information related to you with its subsidiaries or affiliates (*1) (collectively, the “Group Companies”) or its and the Group Companies’ outsourced service providers and subcontractors, within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes listed below:

1. Contents such as the text of up to 300 messages sent and received in the Talk Rooms you use, among the various information related to you in connection with the diverse range of features provided via the Service (the “Features”)
2. Contents such as the text of the draft messages entered in the message entry space, among the various information related to you in connection with the feature of the Service that changes the expressions of wordings entered into Talk according to your selection (the “AI Message Conversion Feature”)
[Purposes of Use of 1 and 2]
(i) Providing and maintaining the Service; and
(ii) Preventing unauthorized use of the Service.
3. Information other than contents among the various information related to you in connection with the Features (including, but not limited to, your profile information, your internal identifier, the type of Talk Room in which the Features are used, internal identifiers of the senders and receivers of up to 300 messages sent and received in the Talk Room in which the Features are used, and the dates and times when such messages were sent or received (which will be used for distinguishing the senders and receivers thereof), the date and time of commencing use, and information on which functions were used within the Features)
4. Information other than the contents of the draft messages entered in the message entry space, among the various information related to you in connection with the AI Message Conversion Feature (including, but not limited to, your profile information, your internal identifier, the dates and times the draft messages were entered in the message entry space, the categories selected, the dates and times of use of the AI Message Conversion Feature, and the dates and times the function to return to the original text was used)
[Purposes of Use of 3 and 4]
(i) Preventing unauthorized use of the services provided by LYC, including monitoring and confirming the details of reports and illegal postings, as well as developing tools to prevent such unauthorized use;
(ii) Developing, improving and analyzing statistics of the services provided by LYC or the Group Companies, including giving consideration to user-friendly screen designs; and
(iii) Providing optimized services from LYC or the Group Companies, including the conversion of draft messages by using AI (*2), suggestion of reply messages, stickers, and prompts, the display of advertisements appropriate to the interests of each user, and an input auxiliary function.

Other handling of personal information shall be subject to the LY Corporation Privacy Policy.

*1 The definitions of “subsidiary” and “affiliate” shall be in accordance with Japan’s “Regulation on Terminology, Forms, and Preparation Methods of Financial Statements.”
*2 The generative AI services of Google LLC (located in the U.S.A.), as well as OpenAI OpCo, LLC and OpenAI, L.L.C. (both companies located in the U.S.A.), are used to provide the Service, and there may be instances where various information relating to you in the Service will be shared with such companies to the extent required for the provision of the Service.
