LINE TODAY Terms and Conditions of Use
The LINE TODAY Terms and Conditions of Use (the “Terms and Conditions”) set forth the terms between LINE Plus Corporation and users (“You”, “Yourself”, or “Your” depending on the context) of any services or features of the LINE TODAY provided by LINE Plus Corporation (the “Service”), including, but not limited to providing news articles via LINE TODAY Official Account, LINE VOOM functions, and More Tab functions within the internet communication services operated by LY Corporation under the brand name “LINE” and its related services (collectively, “LINE Services”), and/or via Mobile web version and PC websites of LINE TODAY.
1. Consent to the Terms and Conditions
1.1. You may use the Service only in accordance with the provisions of the Terms and Conditions, without modification. You may not use the Service unless you validly and irrevocably consent to the Terms and Conditions.
1.2. By consenting to the Terms and Conditions, You represent and warrant that You are of the legal age of majority in the jurisdiction in which You reside. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if You are the parent or legal guardian of minor between the ages of 13 and the legal age of majority, You may allow the minor to use Your account for the Service solely under Your supervision and only in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. In such case, You are liable for any acts committed by the minor. If You use the Service on behalf of, or for the purposes of, a business enterprise, then that business enterprise shall also be deemed to have consented to the Terms and Conditions, thereby concluding a valid and irrevocable agreement between LINE Plus Corporation and the business enterprise.

If You do not wish to bind Yourself to the Terms and Conditions, do not access or use the Service or access any materials therefrom.
1.4. If there are any documents pertaining to the Service and provided or uploaded by LINE Plus Corporation, such as “agreements”, “guidelines”, and “policies” (“Separate Terms and Conditions”) for the Service, You shall also comply with the provisions of the Separate Terms and Conditions as well as the Terms and Conditions.
2. Modification of the Terms and Conditions
LINE Plus Corporation may modify the Terms and Conditions or Separate Terms and Conditions at any time deemed necessary by LINE Plus Corporation and without providing prior notice to You. The modified Terms and Conditions or Separate Terms and Conditions become effective upon their posting on an appropriate location within the website operated by LINE Plus Corporation. By continuing to use the Service after a change to the Terms and Conditions or Separate Terms and Conditions, You are deemed to have validly and irrevocably consented to the modified Terms and Conditions or Separate Terms and Conditions. Notifications regarding the modification to Terms and Conditions may not be provided individually to You. You are encouraged to refer to the current version of the Terms and Conditions on a regular basis when using the Service.
3. Account
In order to use, in part or in whole, the Service and/or any features and functions of the Service, You may need to separately register for LINE Services. Please refer and consent to the for use of LINE Services.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 All of the content elements displayed and/or downloadable on LINE TODAY, as part of Contents under LY Corporation Common Terms of Use, including, but not limited to photographic images, graphic images, text, captions, video, audio-visual files, digital files and software (collectively, the “Content”), and all of the features on LINE TODAY, including the LINE TODAY’s designs, trade dress, logos, pages, audio and/or video material, text, data, information, software, data compilations, digital downloads, icons, html code, xml code and products or services obtained from LINE TODAY (together with the Content, collectively, the “Elements”) are the exclusive property of LY Corporation or its licensors. The Elements are protected by national and international laws, including copyright, trademark, trade dress and other intellectual property laws. Any Content accessed or downloaded by You (whether or not such access or download was authorized) transfers no right, title or interest in or to such Content or any intellectual property rights therein. All right, title and interest in and to such Content shall remain the exclusive property of LY Corporation and/or its licensors. No Content may be used, copied, displayed, transmitted or otherwise exploited via any means except as expressly permitted herein or in the LY Corporation Common Terms of Use. LINE Plus Corporation hereby expressly confirms that LY Corporation reserves all rights in relation to the LINE TODAY and Elements not expressly granted herein. Please refer and consent to the LY Corporation Common Terms of Use for
4.2 For the protection of LY Corporation, LINE Plus Corporation and their licensors, Content may use electronic measures to protect LINE TODAY and the Elements. You agree not to, nor attempt to, disable or interfere with any such measures. Any circumvention or interference with such measures may result in civil and criminal penalties.
4.3 If You are to make printed copy of any item of Content for personal, non-commercial use, solely to the extent permitted under applicable laws and regulation, You must not remove or cause to be removed any copyright, trademark, watermark or other proprietary notices or visual marks or logos from the Content. You may not archive or retain any Content without the express prior written consent of LY Corporation.
5. Use of the LINE TODAY
5.1 LINE TODAY and Elements are intended solely for users of LINE TODAY. Any and all access to LINE TODAY is provided to You at LINE Plus Corporation's sole discretion. You agree that LINE Plus Corporation shall not be liable to You or any third party for any termination of Your access to LINE TODAY. LINE Plus Corporation reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, discontinue or restrict the use of or access to LINE TODAY (or any portion of LINE TODAY) at any time and without notice or liability.
5.2 When using the Service through LINE Services, LINE Plus Corporation may notify preferred new Content, follow-up news to viewed Content, and/or extra Contents using push message function. Such function for push messaging extra Contents by default is set as “ON”, but You may switch this function to “OFF” through setting of the Service.
5.3 You may, as part of the functions and features of the Service, share Contents to Your social media accounts, such as LINE Services, Facebook, and Twitter. LINE Plus Corporation disclaims all responsibility for the propriety of You using such sharing function, and also for Your using such social media accounts in accordance with the terms and conditions or other regulations or the like, if any, set forth by the service providers of such social media services. Such service providers of social media services bear all responsibility for their own social media services. In addition, You agree that LINE Plus Corporation shall not be liable to You or any third party for any continuation, suspension, or termination of such sharing function. LINE Plus Corporation reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, discontinue or restrict the use of the sharing function at any time and without notice or liability. Unless explicitly permitted under the Terms and Conditions, You may not share, reproduce, and/or distribute Content without LINE Plus Corporation’s permission using any functions other than the sharing function referred to in this paragraph.
5.4 You may not (i) deep link or employ software or any automatic device, technology or algorithm, to “crawl”, “scrape”, search or monitor LINE TODAY and/or retrieve or copy Content or related information; (ii) violate the mechanical restrictions of LINE TODAY, or bypass other measures employed to prevent or limit access to LINE TODAY or Elements by hacking or other means; (iii) copy, redirect, or exploit LINE TODAY or any Elements; (iv) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of LINE TODAY or of the network supporting LINE TODAY, or seek information on visitors to LINE TODAY or personal information of LINE Plus Corporation’s users; (v) use or upload to LINE TODAY any device, software or routine that would interfere with the proper functioning of LINE TODAY, or any transaction conducted via LINE TODAY; (vi) copy, modify, or display LINE Plus Corporation’s name, logo, trademarks or service marks, text, or graphic images in any way, or include LINE Plus Corporation’s names or trademarks or service marks or any LINE Plus Corporation executive's name, or any variation of any of the foregoing, as a meta-tag, hidden textual element, or any other indicator that may create an impression of affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement; (vii) use devices (including software) that are designed to provide repeated automated access to LINE TODAY, other than those made generally available by LINE Plus Corporation, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network related in any way to LINE TODAY, without proper authorization from or by LINE Plus Corporation; (viii) engage in any unlawful or illegal activities in connection with the use of LINE TODAY; or (ix) frame LINE TODAY or Elements using “framing” or any other similar technology.
5.5 LINE Plus Corporation does not claim that LINE TODAY and/or any Elements are appropriate or available for use in specific countries where You choose to use the Service. If You choose to access LINE TODAY, You do so at Your own initiative and will be solely responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.
6. Privacy
6.1. LINE Plus Corporation places its highest priority on the privacy of You. LINE Plus Corporation exercises its utmost care and attention regarding security measures for the secure management of information received from You.
6.2. LINE Plus Corporation follows the provisions of the LINE Plus Corporation Privacy Policy regarding the collection and handling of personal information.
7. Confidentiality
In the course of using this LINE TODAY, You may receive certain pricing, technical, marketing or other confidential information. “Confidential information” includes any information that is either designated as confidential by LINE Plus Corporation or that, under the circumstances surrounding its disclosure, a reasonable person would conclude is confidential. You acknowledge that such confidential information constitutes valuable trade secrets of LINE Plus Corporation and is proprietary to LINE Plus Corporation. You agree that You will maintain the confidentiality of all such confidential information and that You shall not use or disclose such confidential information without the prior written consent of LINE Plus Corporation.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations on Liability
8.1 LINE TODAY AND THE ELEMENTS ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, LINE PLUS CORPORATION EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO LINE TODAY, THE ELEMENTS AND ANY OTHER PRODUCTS OR SERVICES AVAILABLE ON OR THROUGH LINE TODAY, WHETHER, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES (1) OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; (2) OF NON-INFRINGEMENT AND TITLE; (3) THAT ANY USE OF LINE TODAY WILL BE FREE FROM ANY INTERRUPTIONS, DELAYS, INACCURACIES, SERVER DOWN-TIME, ERRORS OR OMISSIONS; (4) THAT LINE TODAY WILL BE SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES, WORMS OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS; (5) THAT LINE TODAY AND/OR THE ELEMENTS WILL SATISFY YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS; AND (6) THAT INFORMATION, DATA OR MATERIALS PRESENTED OR DISPLAYED ON LINE TODAY ARE CORRECT, ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
8.2 TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND REGULATION, LINE PLUS CORPORATION OR ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, LICENSORS, AGENTS OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVES, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, COMPENSATORY, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, INCOME, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF LINE TODAY OR THE ELEMENTS. YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING OR REPAIRS ARISING FROM USE OF LINE TODAY.
8.3 Your access to LINE TODAY or any Element is at Your own risk. You shall be solely responsible for any damage to Your computer systems or loss of data that results from the accessing of any Elements. LINE Plus Corporation shall not be responsible or liable for any damage caused by theft, systems failure, communications line failure or other occurrences beyond the control of LINE Plus Corporation.
8.4 Although LINE Plus Corporation endeavors to ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of the Content, LINE Plus Corporation disclaims all representations and warranties concerning the accuracy, completeness and/or reliability of the Content or any data or metadata appurtenant thereof. You assume all risk and responsibility relying on such information. LINE Plus Corporation also disclaims any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and/or reliability of any search feature provided by LINE TODAY and/or any search results. For any inquiries, comments, claims or the like regarding and/or related to the contents of the Content, You must contact the licensors providing such Content directly; LINE Plus Corporation disclaims any responsibility for the contents of the Content, and/or for responding to any of the inquiries, comments, claims or the like from You regarding and/or related to the content of the Content.
8.5 LINE TODAY may from time to time contain links or pointers to Internet sites maintained by third parties. These links do not imply endorsement by LINE Plus Corporation of the products or services offered by such third party Internet sites. LINE Plus Corporation does not operate or control in any way any information, products or services on these third-party sites and LINE Plus Corporation expressly disclaims any responsibility for such third party sites, which are provided for Your convenience on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. You hereby waive any and all claims against LINE Plus Corporation regarding the inclusion of links to third party Internet sites or the use thereof.
9. Potentially Offensive Material
LINE TODAY contains an extensive archive of news and historical news content. Accordingly, certain news content may describe or depict persons, institutions or events that reflect social attitudes, beliefs and circumstances of a particular place and/or time that may be viewed as insensitive, offensive or inappropriate by You, or the community in or to which You intend to publish, transmit, display or broadcast such news content. LINE Plus Corporation shall not be liable or responsible to You, or any other person or entity with respect to such news content.
10. Indemnification
You hereby agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless LINE Plus Corporation and its officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from and against any and all claims, actions, proceedings, suits, liabilities, damages, settlements, penalties, fines, losses, or expenses, including attorneys' fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with its access to Your use of LINE TODAY or any Elements in violation or breach or alleged violation or breach of the Terms and Conditions, and/or Separate Terms and Conditions, Your violation, alleged violation or misappropriation of any intellectual property right (including trademark, copyright, patent, trade secrets) or non-proprietary rights of a third party (including defamation, libel, violation of privacy or publicity) or any other applicable laws or regulations.
11. Severability
If any provision of the Terms and Conditions, and/or Separate Terms and Conditions is deemed unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision will be deemed severable from the Terms and Conditions, and/or Separate Terms and Conditionsnd will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions. The affected provision shall be modified to the extent necessary to make it lawful, not void or enforceable, as the case may be, in such a manner as comes closest to preserving the intentions of such provision.
12. No Waiver
The failure of LINE Plus Corporation at any time to require performance by You of any provision of the Terms and Conditions and/or Separate Terms and Conditions shall in no way affect the right of LINE Plus Corporation to enforce the such provision, nor shall the waiver of any breach by You of any provision herein constitute a waiver of any succeeding breach or the provision itself.
13. Translation, Jurisdiction, and Disputes
13.1 Where LINE Plus Corporation has provided Users with a translation of the English language version of the Terms and Conditions (“English Version”), the English Version will govern the relationship between Users and LINE Plus Corporation. In the event of a contradiction between the English Version and a translation, the provisions in the English Version shall take precedence over any other translation.
13.2 The Terms and Conditions and Separate Terms and Conditions will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court. You agree not to bring any of action relating to the use of LINE TODAY or the interpretation to the Terms and Conditions and Separate Terms and Conditions in any court in any jurisdiction other than the Seoul Central District Court. LINE Plus Corporation shall have the right to commence and prosecute any legal or equitable action or proceeding before any court of competent jurisdiction to enforce the Terms of Use.
13.3 In any dispute between You and LINE Plus Corporation where LINE Plus Corporation prevails, LINE Plus Corporation shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorney fees, court costs, disbursements, and other legal expenses.
