Reporting Policy

This Reporting Policy has been designed to inform LINE Users on how to report any genuine concerns of infringement and/or inappropriate Contents in MELODY by Me. 

 

1.    Scope

Any Contents in MELODY by Me which infringe upon copyright of a third party, or which is inappropriate or indecent.

 

2.    Policy

This is the policy of LINE that all LINE Users shall comply to report genuine concerns of infringement and/or inappropriate Contents of melody in MELODY by Me.
 

2.1    Eligible Reporter

Only a LINE User, either a victim of the infringement or a third party, who: 

   1)    hears the problematic Contents in MELODY by Me; and

   2)    has a LINE Call with such Contents owner or a person who sets the Contents as ringback tone.  

For clarity, a third party who neither has a LINE Call nor hears the problematic Contents is not eligible to report the infringement and/or inappropriate Contents. 

 

2.2    Reportable Matters

Any Content in MELODY by Me which is:

   1)    infringes upon copyright and/or intellectual property of a third party;

   2)    inappropriate comprising;

      •    sexual harassment

      •    discrimination by race, national origin, social status, family origin

      •    anti-social content

      •    false information

      •    personal information

      •    tarnish reputation

      •    encouragement of illegal activities

      •    violent content

      •    other kinds of inappropriateness
 

2.3    Reporting Procedure

Eligible reporters must proceed to report as follows:

Report via LINE chatroom

*Please use LINE application version 11.0.0 or above. If you cannot find "Report" menu, please update your LINE app to the latest version.

   1)    When a reporter finishes a call or receives a missed call message in the chatroom with a Content owner or a person who sets the problematic melody as ringback tone, the reporter must have a long press on the telephone icon and choose “Report” menu.

 

      2)    Kindly fill information in the report form and press “Send” button

 

2.4    Confidentiality and Investigation

LINE has a responsibility to treat any information seriously and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the identity of the individual reporting an issue of concern remains confidential. All reasonable care will be taken in dealing with suspected misconduct to avoid premature action, baseless allegations, and violations of any legal rights.

 

2.5    Defense Opportunity

In some cases, LINE, at its own discretion, will directly approach a Content owner who is accused of infringement upon intellectual properties or inappropriate Contents. In this regard, LINE will directly ask the owner through LINE chat application (or any other channels as LINE deems appropriate) to provide further information and/or supporting documents within 7 days via Inquiry Form in order for LINE to take into consideration on the report comprehensively and thoroughly.

 

2.6    Remark

The reporter is eligible to report on the same problematic Content for 2 (two) times in maximum. In other words, the reporter will be unable to report on the same issue for the 3rd time onwards.

 

3.    Revision Date and Destruction Date

This Reporting Policy will be destroyed upon revision and implementation, if any, of a replacement policy.
